* 08/29/2026 @ 12 pm – Wet Your Beak – How to Garden to Attract Birds (and Wildlife) Presented by: Trecia E. Neal
Over the past 50 years, nearly 3 billion birds have been lost worldwide. In this engaging and interactive talk, Trecia explores the causes behind this decline and how homeowners can help reverse it. She’ll cover bird basics—from anatomy and identification tips to simple, effective ways to create a bird-friendly habitat in your own yard. Trecia is a retired biologist from Fernbank Science Center with over 30 years of experience in ornithology, environmental education, and wildlife gardening. An award-winning educator, she now works through her company, Green Gardens Education and Designs, helping homeowners create spaces that support wildlife. She is also co-founder of Wild Roots Native Nursery. Trecia will have a small selection of native, bird-friendly plants available for purchase after the presentation. * 09/12/2026 @ 3pm – Rose Guerra: “Falling for Georgia Wildlife
Fall is a time of plenty for most Georgia wildlife. Mammals and birds need to fatten up, whether they plan to migrate south or hunker down in the lean winter months. For insects, fall is a time of migrating monarchs, giant Joro spiders, and cocooning caterpillars. We will discuss important fall food sources you can provide, and the easiest ways to create winter shelter.
* 09/19/2026 @ 11am – Parrot Productions Ahoy, bird lovers! What better way to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day than with a whole crew of colorful parrots?! Brenda Bean and her husband are back with their amazing flock of parrots from India, Africa, Australia, Indonesia, and South America! These beautiful and entertaining birds are sure to steal the show—and maybe your heart, too! Brenda has the most entertaining stories about her feathered friends, including the hilarious shenanigans they’ve gotten into while working on film sets. You’ll learn about these incredible birds, hear some unforgettable tales, and see parrots from around the world up close! And the best part? At the end of the program, you’ll have the chance to hold a parrot and snap a photo with your new feathered friend! So grab your crew, practice your best pirate voice, and come celebrate with us—ARRRGH you ready for some parroty fun?!

Get up close and personal with native and exotic reptiles and their unique traits. This live animal encounter will include Reptiles (which may be: Snakes, Lizards, Turtles Alligators), plus animal artifacts such as skins, bones, teeth, and sheds.

Get ready for a truly unforgettable experience! We’re thrilled to welcome the Auburn University Raptor Center for a special presentation featuring BOTH a Bald Eagle AND a Golden Eagle! 🦅🦅 That’s right — you’ll have the opportunity to see these magnificent eagles up close while learning more about their incredible lives, behaviors, and important roles in our ecosystems. And while we may have to put our collegiate rivalries aside for the day, we think this is one Auburn appearance everyone can get excited about! The Raptor Center’s engaging presentation is designed for bird lovers of all ages and may also feature additional raptor ambassadors, including owls, falcons, hawks, kites, and vultures. Each ambassador is non-releasable and permanently resides at the center. 🎟️ LIMITED SEATING — RSVP REQUIRED! $10 per person
* 10/31/2026 @ 2pm – Vicky Smith, The “Bat” Lady: Batty for Bats
In case you missed her in April, or maybe you’re coming back, because you too are ‘batty for bats!’ All about Georgia bats and their nocturnal role. Learn all about the importance of these fantastic nocturnal winged crusaders! Bats play an essential role in pest control, pollinating plants, and dispersing seeds. There will be live bats for an up-close photo op!

* 11/7/2026 @ 11am – Jesse Boland, North Fulton Young Farmer Advisor Join us at Wild Birds Unlimited for an engaging session with Jesse Boland, North Fulton Young Farmer Advisor and agriculture teacher at Cambridge High School. Learn about the North Fulton Young Farmers program (our local agriculture education program for adults) and how it connects the community through hands-on agricultural education. This workshop will explore how to attract birds to your farm, backyard, or garden and the benefits they provide, including natural pest control and supporting biodiversity. Attendees will gain practical tips for creating bird-friendly habitats using plants, water, and feeding strategies, and will design their own bird habitat during an interactive activity. Helpful tools and resources available in-store at Wild Birds Unlimited will also be highlighted.
