10/17/2026 @ 11am &1pm – Auburn Raptor Center
Get ready for a truly unforgettable experience! We’re thrilled to welcome the Auburn University Raptor Center for a special presentation featuring BOTH a Bald Eagle AND a Golden Eagle! 🦅🦅
That’s right — you’ll have the opportunity to see these magnificent eagles up close while learning more about their incredible lives, behaviors, and important roles in our ecosystems. And while we may have to put our collegiate rivalries aside for the day, we think this is one Auburn appearance everyone can get excited about!
The Raptor Center’s engaging presentation is designed for bird lovers of all ages and may also feature additional raptor ambassadors, including owls, falcons, hawks, kites, and vultures. Each ambassador is non-releasable and permanently resides at the center.

A Fall Halloween-inspired painting, Moonlit Pumpkins.
Get ready for a little Halloween magic under the moonlight! In this fun, colorful painting, we’ll create a glowing harvest scene featuring bright orange pumpkins, a giant golden full moon, spooky silhouetted trees, and a flying bat.
No painting experience necessary! We’ll focus on having fun, learning a few simple painting techniques, and putting your own personality into your pumpkins. Your finished piece will be bright, whimsical, and just spooky enough for Halloween!

10/31/2026 @ 2pm – Vicky Smith, The “Bat” Lady: Batty for Bats
All about Georgia bats and their nocturnal role. Learn all about the importance of these fantastic nocturnal winged crusaders! Bats play an essential role in pest control, pollinating plants, and dispersing seeds. There will be live bats for an up-close photo op!
Come wearing your best costume! We’ll have Trick-or-Treats.

11/7/2026 @ 11am – Jesse Boland, North Fulton Young Farmer Advisor
Join us at Wild Birds Unlimited for an engaging session with Jesse Boland, North Fulton Young Farmer Advisor and agriculture teacher at Cambridge High School. Learn about the North Fulton Young Farmers program (our local agriculture education program for adults) and how it connects the community through hands-on agricultural education.
This workshop will explore how to attract birds to your farm, backyard, or garden and the benefits they provide, including natural pest control and supporting biodiversity. Attendees will gain practical tips for creating bird-friendly habitats using plants, water, and feeding strategies, and will design their own bird habitat during an interactive activity. Helpful tools and resources available in-store at Wild Birds Unlimited will also be highlighted.

12/05/2026 @ 1pm – 3pm – Local New York Times Best Selling Author Karen White
With almost two million books in print in fifteen different languages, Karen White is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of 36 novels. Her Southern women’s fiction, often described as “grit lit,” has been nominated for numerous national awards, including the SIBA (Southeastern Booksellers Alliance) Fiction Book of the Year.
Karen will be joining us at Wild Birds Unlimited of Alpharetta to discuss her novel The Last Carolina Summer (July 2025), which features several mentions of Wild Birds Unlimited throughout the story, making this a particularly special visit for our store and bird-loving community.
A Tulane University graduate with a cum laude degree in Management, Karen initially pursued a career in business before writing her first novel. Her more recent releases also include The Lady on Esplanade (November 2025), the third book in her New Orleans-set mystery series.
When she's not writing, Karen enjoys reading, birdwatching, and avoiding cooking. She has two grown children, a spoiled Havanese named Sophie, and one adorable granddaughter. Karen divides her time between Atlanta, Georgia, and the northwest Florida coast.
